Common Questions About Newborns

Clear, expert answers to the questions new parents ask most often.

Generally, newborns should feed 8-12 times in a 24-hour period. This means feeding every 2 to 3 hours, day and night. We will track their weight gain to ensure they are getting enough.

It's best to wait until the umbilical cord falls off (usually 1-2 weeks) before giving a full tub bath. Until then, gentle sponge baths are perfectly fine.

After the initial newborn visit, we typically see infants at 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months for routine checkups, growth tracking, and vaccinations.

For infants under 3 months, a rectal temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher is considered a fever and requires immediate medical attention. Our emergency support is available 24/7.
